Angela grew up in Brooklyn, NY prior to her family moving to Lindenhurst, NY on Long Island. She and her family resided in two houses in Lindenhurst that her father built himself. After graduating from Lindenhurst High School, she worked at Farmingdale College prior to marrying her husband, Raymond Corbe Sr., the brother of her best friend Jean.
Angela was married to Raymond just shy of 60 years. He was the love of her life. They had three wonderful children, Raymond Corbe Jr., Christine Corbe Wright, and Donna Corbe. She cherished her children, the lights of her life. She witnessed the marriages of Raymond to Susan, Christine to Larry, and the births of her two beautiful granddaughters Nina & Danielle who were her absolute world. Donna thrived as an aunt, an independent woman with a beautiful home and wonderful career. She couldn’t have been any prouder.
As much as she loved her children, she adored her grandchildren Nina and Danielle Wright. They were given unwavering love and support growing up. Neither could have asked for a better grandmother. An Italian one at that! Their happiness is all she ever wanted and would do anything to make that happen.
She loved to travel, going to the beach, attending live performances, game nights, and playing cards on Thursdays with her friends at the Senior Center. She was independent, hilarious, and full of life.
We will all remember her warm smile, her expressive eyes and great sense of humor. All that will bring a smile to our faces and our hearts in the coming years. There are no words to fix the pain we all feel in our hearts, but we are together to see an angel get her wings. She earned them and forever will live in the house of the Lord with her beloved Raymond Sr and her beloved dog, Ralphie.
Angela was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond Corbe Sr., her parents, Rocco and Antonina DiVirgilio, siblings, nephews, cousins, in-laws, friends, and a sweet baby girl who they lost at birth. May they rest in peace together. Until we all meet again.
