February 7, 1947 – February 3, 2021
Anna was born in Marshall, Minnesota and raised in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. She was the eldest child of James Coker and Luella Bierman Coker. Anna graduated from L.D. Bell High School in Hurst, where she excelled in mathematics.
After high school Anna attended a business college in downtown Dallas, where she met her future husband Ronald while lunching at the Statler Hotel diner in 1965. Anna and Ronald were married in 1967 and had two daughters. They remained devoted partners in life for 51 years until Ronald’s death in 2018.
Anna was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Euless and of the First United Methodist Church of Lewisville, where she also taught Sunday School when her daughters were young. She loved arts and crafts, creating home décor, celebrating Christmas, and singing her favorite songs with gusto when she thought no one else was listening.
She put her keen eye for detail into her work at Texas Instruments and at Tom Thumb, where she was lead cashier. Anna prided herself on memorizing all of the grocery produce codes there. Many Lewisville residents who were early risers started their day with Anna and coffee and donuts at Tom Thumb.
Anna endured dementia for a number of years but never lost her loving spirit. She passed away on February 3rd 2021 after briefly suffering from Covid-19. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband Ronald.
Anna is survived by her daughters Anna Lee Presley and Rhonda Presley-Hernandez, son-in-law Michael Hernandez, brother-in-law Terry Presley, sisters-in-law Elizabeth Presley, Jo Presley, and Sophia Presley, as well as her cherished nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great niece.
In lieu of flowers, her daughters ask for donations to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Dementia Society of America in Anna’s name.
