He was born on June 22, 1944 in Ticonderoga, NY.
Briand served in the United States Air Force as a Training Instructor (TI) during the Vietnam War.
He also volunteered his time over the years as an assistant troop leader in the Boy Scouts.
Professionally, Briand spent most of his life as an auto mechanic. He was constantly working on cars either at work or at home in his driveway.
Briand was preceded in death by his father, Albert René and mother, Lee René.
He is survived by: his wife of 50 years, Rosemary René; son, Troy René; daughter-in-law, Angi René; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Oscar (Beau) René; sister-in-law, Rosie René; sister, Michelle Allen; and brother-in-law, Richard Allen.
Family will receive friends at Rolling Oaks Funeral Home on Friday, June 24, from 6:30-9:00PM. A Celebration of Life will be held at Rolling Oaks Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, June 26, at 2:00 PM.
