

Eileen Guilfoyle Skeahan, age 84, passed away in Austin, Texas on Dec. 17th, 2017. Funeral mass and memorial reception will take place on January 5, 2018 at St. Ann’s Catholic Parish in Coppell, TX. Eileen was born August 13, 1933 in New York City, New York to Mary Hayes Guilfoyle and John Guilfoyle and was their third child. Eileen attended Central Commercial High School and went on to work as an executive secretary in the New York financial center prior to the birth of her daughter. Eileen enjoyed spending time with her family, including her brothers, sisters-in-law, husband, daughter, granddaughters, and many nieces and nephews. She was a music lover and enjoyed going to the opera and other live musical performances. Eileen enjoyed the beach, the Catskill Mountains, reading, writing, and looked forward to the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade. As devout Catholic and proud Irish American, Eileen was an active member of both her local parish, St. Helena’s in the Bronx, NY, and the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians. Eileen and her husband relocated to Austin, Texas in 2005 to be closer to their daughter and grandchildren. Eileen faced her Alzheimer’s diagnosis with bravery and faith in God and her family to care for her. Eileen passed away at the Gracy Woods Nursing Home in Austin, TX and is survived by her husband of 47 years, John Skeahan, daughter, Margaret Skeahan, and granddaughters Kayla and Sarah. Eileen was dearly loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.
