Elizabeth Dumas

Elizabeth Dumas passed away March 15, 2016 at the golden age of 99. Visitation will take place on Thursday, March 31, 2016, in the Chapel of Rolling Oaks Funeral Home, 400 S. Freeport Pkwy., Coppell, TX 75019 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM. Requiem Mass will take place on Friday, April 1, 2016, at Mary Immaculate Church, 2800 Valwood Pkwy., Farmers Branch, TX 75234 at 3:00 PM. Elizabeth will be interred at Calvary Hill Cemetery, 3235 Lombardy Lane, Dallas, TX 75220. Elizabeth was born March 11, 1917, in Munday, TX to John and Joanna Striegl, the fifth of six children; Marie, Ludwig, Conrad, Theresia, Elizabeth, and Carl. Elizabeth attended school at Rhineland Parochial and Jungman School District of Knox County. She led a full life and held several successful professional positions as Photographer, Hairdresser, and was the first female Sales Manager for Western Auto in the City of Dallas. She managed to do all this while raising four children. She also contributed time to her community by belonging to Sorority - Beta Sigma Phi, Tau Alpha Rictual of Jewels, Zi Zeta Tau Exemplar, Thimble Club, Commissioned Eucharistic Minister at Mary Immaculate Church, led exercise classes at the Farmers Branch Recreation Center, was a Charter member with "Keenagers of Mary" at Mary Immaculate Church, Charter member of The Catholic Daughters, Neighborhood Advisory Committee for the City of Carrollton, and Founder of the Carrollton Highland Homeowners Association. She married DeWitt J. Dumas on June 12, 1945 and they enjoyed 40 years of happiness before he died on August 25, 1985. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, all of her siblings, and her husband DeWitt J. Dumas. She is survived by her children and their spouses: Theresia (Glen), Robert (Gloria), Cecelia, and Vincent (Cindy). She is also survived by her grandchildren: Michelle, Melissa, Lucien III, David, Jennifer, Clark, Kevin (Kyle), Alexander (Alec), Andrew (Drew), and Chandler, and her great-grandchildren: Jack, Jeff, Annmarie, Theresa (Tess), Lucien IV, Lily, Elizabeth (Betz), Mason, Tyler and Brianna.
