When Tim asked his sweetheart, Cindy Wohlford, to dance at a college Halloween party, it was a dance that lasted 45 years. They married February 5, 1977 and were in perfect step ever since. They repeated their vows every 10 years. They lived in Richardson, then in Baton Rouge, before moving to Coppell in 1984 where their dance of love and devotion continued. It was here they worked, raised a family and retired. They were blessed with their son, Matthew Timothy, in 1982, and their daughter, Sarah Jayne, in 1984.
Tim was born April 1, 1952, in Kansas City, KS, to Paul and Margaret Jane Sine. He had two brothers, Mark and Eddy. When he was twelve years old, the family moved to Texas where he attended and graduated from Richardson High School. He graduated from North Texas State University in Denton, TX, where he was a member of Delta Sigma Phi fraternity. Tim earned his MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas.
Tim was highly respected by his business associates and clients. He worked for CitiCorp, American Bankers Insurance Group and American National Insurance. He then started his own credit life insurance business, Sine and Associates, from which he retired in 2019.
He was a charter member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Coppell.
Tim loved people and they loved him back. He kept up with his high school and college friends throughout his life. They bonded over a love of golf and “lively discussions” about the game at the19th hole. He was a spirited, self-taught guitar player in the Grateful to Be Alive Band. He hosted the annual Sport and Margarita Festival every Labor Day.
Most importantly, Tim was devoted to family. He shared a bucket list experience when he took his 88 year old father to the University of Notre Dame to see the campus and attend a football game. He included his brothers in travels to Italy with Cindy. He took Sarah on a father-daughter trip to Las Vegas to see Celine Dion. He instilled his love of golf in Matt on the links. He and Cindy enjoyed card games with friends, time in Granbury, movie nights, live music and concerts. He was a voracious reader and loved the Military Channel as his dad had been a Marine. He noted every detail of his grandkids’ lives and interests and peppered them with questions at every opportunity.
Tim courageously managed complex health issues which kept him from speaking the last eight years — a heroic challenge for someone as engaged with people as he was.
Tim is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Margaret Jane Sine, as well as his brother, Mark Sine.
Tim is survived by his wife, Cindy; his son Matt Sine (Christen) and grandchildren Parker and Mylène; his daughter, Sarah Carrera (Duwayne) and grandchildren Trey, Mia and Callie; brother Eddy, niece Erin; brother and sister-in-law, Randy and Claudia Wohlford; niece Katelyn Battaglia (Michael) and baby Isaac; nephew Jake Wohlford; many other relatives and friends as well as his energetic dog, Mellie.
