Griffin Lewis Mobley, age 36, passed away peacefully at his childhood home in Coppell, Texas, on November 24, 2025. Born on October 20, 1989, in Dallas,TX. He was a beloved son, brother, and friend whose bright spirit left a lasting imprint on everyone who knew him.
Born to Kimberlee Griffin Mobley and Stephen Lewis Mobley, Griffin entered the world with the whitest hair his family had ever seen—a detail they lovingly teased him about for years. For a decade, he was an only child, and he embraced that role with independence and curiosity. At age ten, he proudly became a big brother with the arrival of his sister, Grace, a moment he had eagerly awaited. From that day on, he cherished being her protector, supporter, and friend.
Griffin was a smart, humorous, and selfless man who found joy in the simple but meaningful moments of life—being surrounded by family, sharing laughs with friends, and diving into conversations about the sports teams he loved. A passionate fan of the Texas Rangers, Dallas Stars, Dallas Cowboys, and Texas A&M football team, he could enlighten anyone with statistics, history, and predictions, and he loved every opportunity to share that excitement with others.
Growing up, Griffin played every sport in the book—football, soccer, baseball, basketball, track,—and spent countless afternoons on the fields and courts of Coppell. Along the way, Griffin formed friendships that would last him a lifetime. Many of the boys he played beside and grew up with became brothers to him, sharing not only games and practices, but the kind of childhood memories that become cornerstones of a person’s life. Griffin continued to thrive in the Coppell community and proudly graduated from Coppell High School in 2008. Those relationships and experiences shaped him just as deeply as the sports he loved, and they remained a cherished part of his story.
As Griffin entered adulthood, he continued to build a life full of curiosity, learning, and connection. He embodied this when he became a proud member of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity, during the rechartering of the Zeta Psi Chapter at Stephen F. Austin University. Here he created bonds that stood the test of time. The friendships he made there were some of the most meaningful of his life, offering him brotherhood, support, and a community he treasured deeply. Griffin later attended and graduated from the Golf Academy of America and Texas State Technical College.
Griffin carried that same loyalty and dedication into his professional life. He enjoyed working alongside his uncle, John Barbe, at Graduate Sales, where he discovered a genuine love for working with people and found his gift for making others feel welcomed, valued, and understood. Griffin went on to proudly work with his mother and father, Kim and Steve, at World Trade Cargo and Logistics. There, he learned the inner workings of the company, gaining experience in logistics, communication, and collaboration with people across the country and around the world. He took pride in the work he did and the relationships he built along the way.
Griffin's love of his friends, who quickly became a part of his family, was one of his most admired qualities. He was constantly staying in touch over a shared love of Fantasy Football, college football, exchanging playful banter, and celebrating life’s joys together, spending time relaxing at Lake Cherokee, or catching a round of golf. Golf was a treasured pastime that combined his love of sports with the peaceful joy of spending time outdoors. Whether Griffin was perfecting his swing, enjoying Wednesday lunch with his grandfather, Dr. John Griffin, or taking a boat ride across the lake, he cherished the memories he made with the people he cared for.
Griffin will be remembered for his generous and kind heart, quick wit, and unwavering loyalty to the people he cared about. His presence brought comfort, laughter, and light, and his absence leaves an ache that words cannot fully express.
He is survived by his parents, Kim and Steve Mobley, and his sister, Grace Mobley of Coppell, Texas. He is also survived by his grandparents, Tom and Betty Mobley of Kilgore, Texas, and Dr. John and Shirley Griffin of Longview, Texas, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved him.
A visitation will be held in Coppell on Tuesday, December 2nd, from 5:00–7:00 p.m. at Rolling Oaks Funeral Home. On Wednesday, December 3rd, a private burial for close family and friends will take place at 12:30 p.m. at Rolling Oaks Funeral Home, followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Coppell, where all are welcome to attend.
