

Sylvia "Irene" Green passed away peacefully after a long illness on May 9, 2025. Irene was born in Roswell, New Mexico on December 12, 1935 to Oscar Fay and Maudie Crawford. She was preceded in death by her parents and son David.
Irene met and married the love of her life, Richard "Dick" Green while he was stationed at Walker Air Force Base in Roswell, New Mexico in 1953. It was the beginning of a seventy-one year love affair.
Irene was proud to have grown up in a farming and ranching family. It taught her lifelong values of hard work, caring and nurturing of others and most of all love of family. As a teenage convert she loved and practiced her Catholic faith, serving many years as a Eucharist Minister and teacher. Her innate ability to help and nurture others lead her into a career as a registered nurse until she retired in Texas.
Irene is survived by her husband Dick, son Richard J. Green Jr and wife Noo, daughter Mary Keane and husband Maurice. She was Nana to her grandchildren, Katie Moomau and her husband Daniel, Andrew Keane, Ryan Keane, Sarah Margaret Keane and great-grandchildren, Briar, Rowan, Lochlan and Miley Moomau. She is also survived by her brother Granville "Grant" Crawford and wife Dorothy "Peaches" Crawford of Los Lunas, New Mexico.
A rosary service will be held at Rolling Oaks Funeral home at 7pm on May 19, 2025, a funeral mass will be at 10 am at St. Ann in Coppell on May 20, 2025 at St. Ann Church, in Coppell, Texas. Burial will be at the DFW National Cemetery at 1pm on May 20, 2025.
