In Loving Memory of a Life Beautifully Lived

Jacqueline Ann Kosnoski Lafon (“Jackie” and “Meme”) born on February 2, 1937, peacefully passed away on January 12, 2024 with her family at her side. We honor and celebrate a remarkable life that began in the scenic town of Beckley, West Virginia, and flourished through LaPorte and Coppell, Texas. Her journey was characterized by strength, resilience, and an abundance of love, touching the hearts of all who knew her.

Her early days in Beckley were filled with simple joys playful adventures with friends, setting the foundation for a life rich in love and memories. She met, and fell in love early in life with her husband, Don. Embracing motherhood in her late teens, she created a home in Beckley, LaPorte, and Coppell that was a sanctuary of comfort and love. Her kitchen, especially, was a haven where she expressed her love through her cooking - her love was an action, tangible in the warm cookies she shared, her honest and caring guidance, and her kindness-filled words.

Her career path, from aspiring to be a nurse to working as a dental assistant and later at Hollywood Marine, reflected her adaptability and commitment to excellence. The loss of her mother at 18 and later her husband at an early age, taught her perseverance, shaping her strong character and positive outlook on life.

Her independence and resourcefulness, shaped by her experiences in West Virginia and Texas, were legendary. She found joy in being outdoors, especially by the water or in the mountains, volunteering, exercising and walking, reading books, gardening, and card games, each reflecting her nurturing spirit, active and strategic mind, and love for storytelling. Spirited games of cards and board games were a staple at family gatherings, showcasing her love for her family and connecting through laughter and fun.

She leaves behind a legacy as a loving mother to two wonderful children, Don “Chuck” Lafon II (Kristen) and Cindy Warner (David), who were the absolute center of her world. Her four grandchildren, Heather Lafon, Matthew Warner, Adam Warner, Don “Chase” Lafon III and one great-grandchild, Kinsey Lafon-Yowell, were sources of immense joy and pride. In Heaven she will reunite with her mother Faye Adams Kosnoski, father Adam V. Kosnoski, brother, Bob Kosnoski, and husband, Don Charles Lafon, who all profoundly shaped her life.

As we bid farewell, we remember her as a beacon of strength, love, and practical wisdom. Her life teaches us to embrace each day with kindness, love unconditionally, and face life's challenges with courage and grace. She will be dearly missed but forever remembered for the rich tapestry of love, resilience, and joy she wove into our lives. Her spirit, a remarkable blend of her early roots' resilience and the warmth she found in her later years, continues to inspire us to find joy in life's simple pleasures and enjoy the beautiful ride of life.
