James Faris Brede

James Faris Brede, DDS, 89, passed away on June 05, 2014 in his Lewisville, Texas home. He was born on March 16, 1925 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Frank Brede and Elma (Faris) Brede. James was a veteran of the US Air Force serving during World War II with the 8th Air Force, 379th Bomber Group where he flew B17’s for 35 missions and obtained the rank of a 1st Lieutenant. Upon his return from World War II James attended the University of Pittsburgh where he received his doctorate in dentistry. He was called back by the Air Force during the Korean Conflict where he went on to serve as a dentist. Upon his return from Korea, James opened his private dental practice in Pittsburgh. He was a member of the Dental Society of Pittsburgh for many years. After practicing dentistry for 35 years, he retired to Brervard, North Carolina until moving to Lewisville, Texas ten years ago to be closer to his family. James is survived by his loving wife, Adele (Konefal) Brede of Lewsville; three sons, James Brede and wife, Kathleen of Flower Mound, Texas, Douglas Brede and wife, Linda of Spokane, Washington, Kendrick Brede and wife, Debra of Wellesley, Massachusetts; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Grace Community Church, 2525 Forest Vista, Flower Mound, Texas. The theme of the service is “Praise to God who has given us Victory over Death”. Military Honors will be held at 1:30 pm Friday, July 18, 2014 at the Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery.
