

Joy was born to Alvin Green and Minnie Addie Arnett May 14, 1926 in at the family farm near Evant, Texas. Her parents, husband Roy Delbert (Deb) Onstott and her siblings; Opal Burke, Ivan Arnett, Kay Cole and Alvin Crews (AC) Arnett preceded her in death. Joy and Deb were married 63 years and had two wonderful sons as well as four grandchildren.
Joy is survived by Roy Onstott and wife Linda of Houston and there children Mason Onstott of Boca Raton, FL, Brandon Onstott San Antonio; Lynn Onstott of Coppell and his children Lauren Onstott of Farmersville, TX and Trevor Onstott of Denison, TX; along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Joy grew up on the family farm and later moved in to the town of Hamilton graduating from Evant High School in 1945. Joy worked at Southwestern Bell until her second son, Lynn, was born. Later she worked part-time at Sears while the boys were in school. Joy retired from Otis Engineering after over 20 years of service. Deb and Joy lived in Farmers Branch for many years and were very active with Valwood Park Baptist Church activities.
Joy had a love for flowers and began making floral arrangements and growing African violets at home. To develop her skills she attended horticulture classes at Brookhaven Community College. To expand the business she bought into a gift and floral shop then later moved the flower, antique and collectable shop to a historical house in Coppell. After her second retirement Joy continued managing property in Coppell.
