TK1 Anniversary 

Hermano,

Hace un año te mudaste al otro lado, y aunque sabemos que estás en un mejor lugar en el cual ya no sufres no dejamos de extrañarte. Tan reciente como hace dos semanas Christian, me envió un text diciéndome “Que falta hace ese Kbron” adjunto una foto tuya en una de tus poses sin igual con la carita de “yo no fui” pero con el letrero de “guilty” en la frente.

Definitivamente haces un falta brutal Papi, fueron 20 años batallando juntos y no es para menos después q nos acostumbraste a tu sonrisa contagiosa, a tus chistes y a tus ocurrencias como las q hacías con tu compinche El Viejo “JM Cara e Bi” en cada video q enviaban quemando a medio mundo cada mañana. 

En lo que tratamos de internalizar y aceptar q ya no estas con nosotros físicamente nos refugiamos en todas las anécdotas y experiencias vividas que son muchas. Aunque se q hablamos en sueños a cada rato y cuando tomamos café en la terraza te tengo q contar que ya conocí a Sophia tu nieta tan esperada, te fuiste y dejaste una versión mejorada de ti a través de Ashley, solo tú y Papá Dios podían hacer algo así, te quedó brutal. Solo esperamos q no sea tan coqueta como tú porque no nos van a dar las balas. 


Sir, it was an honor to have spoken with you. Meeting your daughter was the best day of my life, and now all I want to do is my part to honor you and all you have achieved. I love you, you shared such kind habits and motivations to me and truly turned my life around. May you Rest In Peace … g , soldier, Son-

Growing up all of my most unforgettable memories include my dad. He always made every moment enjoyable and educational. His personality and wit will forever be unmatched. I’m very fortunate for the time we had together. He always had my back and taught me some of life’s greatest lessons, and I will forever be grateful. Wish I could hug you one last time. I will love you forever my Hero. Rest In Peace. Love your little girl.

My Father was the  greatest man I know. He taught me so many things and always had my back. Family was everything to my Dad, and we will continue to honor his name and make him proud. I am this strong independent woman today because of the values both my parents instilled in me. Dad touched so many lives throughout his time here and he was an inspiration to so many. I am grateful for all the memories we had together, and will cherish them in my heart. Your grandsons Matthew and Junior will continue the dynasty you built for us and they will make you so proud. We are Warrior Blood, strong, winners, Resilient.

My father Luis Padilla was the strongest person I’ve ever met. I will never forget his words of wisdom & i will forever miss his guidance through life.  He was my role model & although we lost him i know that he will be next to me until the day we meet again.  I will miss his phone calls & texts and coming to Texas to spend time with him.  He will forever be in my heart & i will honor his life through my actions & be the best i can be, because that is what my dad would want! I love you dad. Forever

Desafortunadamente, por la pandemia, no tuvimos el placer de conocerlo personalmente, pero entendemos que fue un excelente ser humano. Angie, Ivanna, Milo…. Olga, Ashley, Sasha, Christian & family members ! My name is Danilo “Danny” Sostre, on behalf of my entire family please accept my deepest condolences.  I met Luis at Fort Buchanan, PR back in 2002 it was happens to be. He asked me for a Job at the same time we were looking for the best candidates to join our Career Counselors Team. After a few minutes I was impressed by his can do attitude and how sharp he looked in uniform. Once he started working with us immediately he caught our attention due to his professionalism. Eventually we offer him a permanent position and the rest it’s history. He never lets us down a bit until he Retired. Angie, Olga you may know Luis the husband and Ivanna, Ashley, Sasha and Christian may know the father and the grandpa… but I had the privilege to met, know and served with one of the most outstanding Soldier that I ever had the opportunity to serve with during my 32 years of service and for that I forever will be grateful. I could be here forever talking about Luis achievements during his military career such as been the first Soldier from US Army Reserve 1st (MSC) Military Support Command 
Puerto to attend Airborne School in the command history. Or turn an area of responsibility from been last to first in a fiscal year like he did when he was assigned to Tampa as an Area Leader. Instead I will like to tell you that Luis not only was a fine Soldier. He was
indeed an exceptional human being who captive my friendship and brotherhood ending in been my wedding best man. Luis was part of my  Army Team, He was part of my Family and for ever will be part of my life. May he rest in Peace 🙏

Llegaste a las vidas de nuestras amadas Angy e Ivannita. Las llenaste de amor, cariño, atenciones, compañia, dedicación y las colmaste con un hermoso hogar donde compartieron momentos inolvidables. Tu meta era hacerlas felices y lo lograste. Les brindaste lo mejor de tí. Por eso serás inolvidable y solo cabe agradecimiento y recuerdo imperecedero. Seguirás en las vidas de ellas como Ángel guardián en el cielo.
Sólo bastaron unas pocas horas para conocerte y compartir contigo unas "Onces Santafereñas" en Bogotá para darnos cuenta que eras un ser excepcional con muchas virtudes. Sentimos el calor de tu  afecto familiar y tu deseo de mostrarnos tu sencillez espiritual. Ahora más que nunca recuerdo nuestro abrazo de despedida y tus sinceras palabras: "Querido tío Mauro, mucho gusto de conocerte y nos volveremos a ver". Aún resuenan a mis oídos. Nunca las olvidaré, con dolor, porque no sabía que no te volvería a ver aqui, pero ten la seguridad que en el cielo repetiremos ese abrazo en si momento justo. Desde allá seguirás irradiando amor y cuidados para tu Angy e Ivannita.

Infortunadamente para mi, quedé con el pesar de no conocer personalmente a nuestro apreciado y muy querido Luis en su estadía en Bogotá y haberle podido dar un estrecho abrazo. Although we met a little over four years ago, Luis had a way of making you feel like lifetime friends. Luis and Angy and our family shared Thanksgiving in 2017, and then we rang in 2018 together.  Luis was a “true warrior”; he was selfless and so giving.  Luis will always have a special place in my heart, and his advice or motto will never be forgotten; he always said, “keep hunting the good stuff.”  
Luis, you fought the good fight of faith, my brother, like the warrior you were.  I won't say goodbye but until we meet again. I will keep my word; I will always have Angy’s back.

Cuando por. primera vez  te conocí, fue, en el 2018 en un paseo quehicimos. con  Myrian y MariaPaula, acá  en USA.; me. gusto tu especial manera. de ser , muy abierta , formal y al mismo tiempo  sencilla ,que. mostraban tu carisma, don de gentes y lo mas importante ,como querías a mi hija y a mi nieta; eso fue lo que mas me impacto, pues ese era mi deseo para  compartir la vida de ellas. A medida que paso el tiempo y te conocía mas,  supe que ese era. el anhelo mío para alguien. que estuviera toda la vida con ellas , y las  hiciste muy felices!  te doy las gracias por todo ello! tu entraste en mi alma y en mi corazón   Siempre te recordaremos y nunca te olvidaremos !  has dejado una huella indeleble en nuestra vida y en mis hijas! Es imposible no estar tristes....tu ausencia duele inmensamente, pero tu recuerdo  siempre nos hará sonreír!

Luis, descansa en los brazos del Rey de reyes y en Su paz!

“Estoy de pie a la orilla del mar.
A mi lado, una lancha abre sus velas a la brisa matutina y parte hacia el gran océano.
Esa lancha es un conjunto de hermosura y fortaleza.
Me quedo observándola por algún tiempo hasta que al final parece ser tan solo un punto blanco que se confunde con las nubes, allá donde el mar y el cielo se encuentran.
Entonces, alguien se me acerca y dice “ya se fue”,  y yo respondo:
“No se fue, la perdimos de vista, eso es todo.
Pero sigue siendo hermosa y fuerte, como era cuando estaba a nuestro lado.
Su tamaño disminuido está,
pero solo ante nuestros ojos”.
Y en el preciso momento en que alguien me dice: “Ya se fue”,
hay muchos ojos más allá
que la ven llegar y muchas voces
que jubilosamente exclaman:
“¡Ya llegó!”
A ese instante, lo llamamos:
MORIR”.

Pulling myself together to write this is hard but every moment shared with him meant a lot. I remember in the mornings when he used drive me to school we had talks about life. We used to park right next to my school and people watch before I had to go inside the school. That was our thing in the mornings. He had a way to make things better and happier. That was his aura. I remember our daily runs in Katy park in Dallas. We used to be competitive with our vests to make it more difficult. He understood my motivation as I understood his. I miss you so much 🤍. 

I remember a time when I was stationed in Fort Totten Queens, New York and Padilla showed up shortly after. He had been appointed the District Leader for 1st Battalion Army Reserve Careers Division. We initially started our conversation off with him sharing that he needed to find a good barber. I told him that it was his lucky day because i was actually a barber and could cut his hair. He gave me this look of thanks but no thanks.( a Padilla look). After convincing him that I really was a licensed barber he finally gave in and let me cut his hair (but only after i showed him my license!) After finishing the haircut I handed him the mirror and he turned around and gave me a big smile. You know, the big one we all grew to love. Padilla brought lightheartedness to the team during stressful times. When they identified him as a district leader there was no doubt in my mind that our leadership picked the right person to lead and motivate our Soldiers. Those were some of the best military years for many of us. When Padilla retired from the military he still led with a smile and gave back by helping and ensuring me and many other Soldiers were able to successfully transition out of the military. After leaving the Army, one of Padilla’s dreams was to build homes for the homeless. Padilla was always looking out for others by making other people his priority and for that we will always be grateful for the life he lived. 


Our first date was in a beautiful summer night in New York City, you let me choose the place as a gentleman that you were and we had such an amazing night full of laughs and good food. You were always looking for many creative ways to make me happy and to make me smile, and I fall in love with you, I fall in love with your beautiful heart and your funny personality, I loved you from day 1 and will love you forever. The day I introduced you to Ivanna, you guys clicked right away and became inseparable, it was like God arranged it all for us three to become a beautiful little family, oh and we were, we were such a beautiful family. We will love you forever and you will always be with us until we can meet in heaven. We love you forever mi amor!

Mis profunda condolencias a la esposa,hijos y nietos de mi amigo MSG Padilla, quien compartimos muchos momentos cuándo ambos fuimos asignados en Aguadilla Como retention NCO, nunca olvidaré esos gratos momentos que pasamos juntos, fuimos un team único y reconocidos, su sonrisa , energía y honestidad con todos hacia la diferencia y cambiaba la energía negativa  a positiva, te recordaré por siempre tu amigo SFC Martínez Wilfredo .

Dear Angie & Family, 

I am truly saddened by MSG Luis Padilla’s death. He was one of my Retention NCO’s at the 65th RSC, Retention Office, Ft. Buchanan, Puerto Rico. I remember him as more than just a Friend; he was an outstanding Soldier, an amazing person to know. He was always so full of energy, always smiling and had a good joke to share. He was kind and considerate to me, I always welcomed seeing him in my office at every opportunity .         
There is a great void to be filled by MSG Padilla’s passing, but I know that the depth of love that you and your Family share for each other and for Luis will pull you through. Honor his memory with that love and the wonderful memories we all share of him.

MSG (r) Padilla known to all as TK-1 or Trained Killer #1. You always had a smile no matter the task. On a run he was laughing while reminding you to hunt the good stuff. I enjoyed our disscussions, your thoughts on life, and your plans. You told me your first mission was to ensure your wife and daughter were cared for should something unexpected happen.  Now you need to take the knee MSG, I got point tonight. You served with the best while leading  the way in the most positive way. You gave selflessly to this nation and we will always be forever in your debt. Old Soldiers never die, they just fade away. Salute... Your brother in arms, M. Indyck.

To all the family and friends of MSG Padilla:

I want to express my deepest condolences.    It is very sad  and hard this loss for all the people he touched and impacted.   Too young and too soon.   What a guy!   He had so many great qualities such as his kindness, courage, generosity, humbleness, great sense of humor, optimism, positive influencer, go-getter, open-minded, fairness, diplomacy and leadership.    Wherever he went, he spread his joy and assertiveness.    In many ocassions, when he detected that comrades were having a bad day, he found ways to make that day better for them.   He lighted any room with his beautiful smile.  Because of his special and unique gifts of his soul and presence, he  was deeply loved, respected and valued by many comrades from the US Army and US Army Reserve especially in the Retention departments.  He will be missed....  I thank God for my friend and brother Padilla.     May God Almighty bless all who mourn for strength especially his wife, children and grandchildren.    Rest in peace, TK.

I had the privilage to serve with MSG Padilla in the USAR in Puerto Rico. I keep great memories an stories of our relationship. He was a great soldier, familiy man and someone I can call friend. Keeping you close in heart and prayer for your loss. You will be remembered.

I remember a night he was driving from Dallas to San Antonio, and I was driving from Ohio to New York. At the time, i was having a hard time making sense of how my team was operating and he literally coached me on the motivating triggers that help a team shift gears and refocus on the mission. We talked for 3 hours straight that night. But just like that one night, there were so many times we spoke about everything else. He exceeded standards on this earth. Love you for ever mi SGM 🙏🏾🙏🏾. 

My heart is breaking for this family who's life has been rocked to the core.  Everyone who knew this man is better for having been in his presence. He lit up every room he entered, and lifted the spirits of everyone he came in contact with. He will be greatly missed! The only silver lining is that he is now on the recon team for heaven, paving the way and organizing the welcoming committee for our arrival. I have no doubt the party has already begun, and we'll be greeted with music and dancing! 

Hoy quiero recordar alegremente a MSG Padilla! Jamas se me olvida cuando Retention se nos unió al HHC a “weapons qualifications” jamas la reserva había gastado tantas balas para que cualificarán, y los comentarios jocosos de MSG Padilla tratando de ayudar a Sebastian, Matos, Pons, Sostre y otros a que pudieran cualificar fueron sumamente graciosos! Se que Dios ha ganado tremendo Soldado para su ejército de Angeles! Gracias por haber sido parte de nuestras vidas, LTC (Ret) Edwin R Correa!

My sincere condolences to the family. May the lord shine his perpetual light on MSG Padilla (Luis) and grant him eternal peace.  May the lord open up his arm, embrace him and welcome Luis into his kingdom. 
Luis, it was a pleasure being in the same command and serving along side of you. You were always a helping hand for those who needed you.  You were truly a character, making us laugh, telling jokes, playing tricks but being a true professional soldier when you needed to be. Which was the majority of the time.   Thank you for the long runs and having us sweat our butts off.  You will be truly missed.  Now the lord has called for you to be his honored guard like you were for us.  Rest In Peace my brother in arms!
