Marybeth Olds

We celebrate the life of MaryBeth Olds of Northlake Texas who passed away December 31, 2022 at the age of 75. She is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years Brian Olds, her children Heather (Eric) Hofer, Chris Olds, and Ryan (Nicole) Olds. Her Grandchildren Ethan, Noah, Faith, Mackenzie, Madison, Adian, Christian, Sebastian, Noelle, Autumn, and Athena. She is preceded in death by her father John Hacker, and her Mother Stella Mudryk. MaryBeth was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and confidant. She was known to always have a smile on her face, and had so much love for her family, especially her grandchildren.

MaryBeth was born on May 29, 1947 in Detroit Michigan. MaryBeth was a lover of intelligent debate and conversation, and valued generosity, empathy, integrity, and equality above all else. She became a nurse at Hinsdale Hospital and went on to be a substance abuse counselor. It was in this career that she touched so many lives, speaking to her patients with understanding and compassion. Later she fulfilled one of her dreams by graduating from Northwestern University with a Bachelor's Degree.

MaryBeth enjoyed painting, reading, and writing. She loved Northern Michigan (Sleeping Bear Dunes, Empire Beach, and the tributary), cars, but most of all Sanibel Island in Florida. It was here she loved to walk the beach, shelling, and sharing her love for the island with her family and grandchildren. Playing games, baking, writing, painting, and conversations with her grandkids brought her so much joy.

A memorial service to honor MaryBeth’s life will be held Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Rolling Oaks Funeral Home in Coppell.
