Michelle Rena Hornback

Mrs. Michelle Rena Hornback of Little Rock, Arkansas has left this world on Tuesday March 18, 2025 at Medical City, Dallas with her husband of 25 years by her side. In the days prior, a parade of family, friends and colleagues shared many stories and encounters describing the selfless acts of kindness that Michelle gave so willingly to those in need. She was surrounded by countless loved ones who sent her off in tears and cheers as she left to give all that she had left as an organ donor.

Michelle was born December 3, 1970 in Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt, Germany. Preceded in death by her Mother Kathy Lorraine Brown and Father Clarence Edward Wheat Jr. She is survived by her husband James Owen Hornback, step mother, Christine Wheat, brother Adam Christopher Wheat. Michelle’s giving nature manifested in many ways one of which was becoming a guardian (mom) to her adolescent niece and nephews during a trying time in their young lives. Edgar, Justin and Tamara Koen, indelibly impacted for the best, even during the hardest times, are in no doubt counted among her survivors.

In her 25+ year career as a Grievance administrator for the Transport Workers Union - Local 555 with Southwest Airlines, Michelle’s knack for order and passion for helping others truly shined. Her airline family will no doubt find a vacuum in the place Michelle once filled.

Michelle faced this world while living in chronic pain. Despite living in this state, she still managed to bring light and laughter to so many.
