Pearl Helen Sirota, 89, died peacefully in her sleep on April 24, 2015 after complications from a stroke suffered earlier in the month. Pearl was born on November 28, 1925 in Pittsburgh, PA. While she lived most of her life in New Kensington PA, she relocated to Coppell in 2004 after her husband died so she could be closer to her daughters who live there. Pearl worked at Joseph Horne Co., now Macy’s, in PA for more than 25 years. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters of America. Pearl enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family. In Texas, she made many new friends at her retirement community, Christus St. Joseph Village, where she enjoyed bingo, bunco and exercise class. Pearl remained a die-hard Steeler fan in the heart of Cowboy country, often wearing her Ben Roethlisberger jersey every Sunday during the football season. Her loving husband of 55 years, Joseph T. Sirota, preceded her in death, as well as an infant son, Thomas Joseph Sirota, her mother and father, Catherine (Melnik) and Frank Kowalik Sr, and a brother George Kowalik of Temecula CA. Pearl is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Nancy (Sirota) and Gary Baker of The Colony and Linda (Sirota) and Dave Lacinski of Coppell, grandsons Joe Baker of Dallas, Philip and wife Amy Baker of Sachse and Brian Lacinski of Midland. Great-grandchildren Zoey, Lexi and Harrison Baker. Three brothers and sisters-in-law: Frank Jr. and Karen of Thornton CO, Walt and Elaine of Oceanside CA, and John and Jackie of Lower Burrell PA. She is also survived by numerous thoughtful and caring nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including her Christus St. Joseph Village “family”. Texas services will be held at Christus St. Joseph Village at 1201 E. Sandy Lake Road in Coppell on Monday, April 27, 2015. Viewing will be 1-2pm; Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 2pm. Reception to follow on-site. All are welcome to attend. Burial will be later in the week in New Kensington PA next to her husband. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Holy Family Chapel at Christus St Joseph Village, 1201 E. Sandy Lake Rd. Coppell, TX 75019.
