He was born on December 19, 1938 in Cleveland, Ohio, and spent his childhood there. Jim's support of the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Cavaliers and Cleveland Indians was well-known and he was happy to wear the jerseys of his old home teams.
After attending John Carroll University, Jim's professional life in management brought him to Dallas in 1978. There, he enjoyed a long and successful career in the electronics field starting with the Brinkman Company.
With his retirement in 2001, Jim continued to golf and bowl as well as entertain his family and friends with his ever-present sense of humor. Jim will always be remembered for his strong devotion to his family and friends, the love of anything Irish and his wonderful quick wit. He also took great pride in serving his country in the United States Army from 1961-1963.
Jim leaves behind his loving wife of 51 years, Carole J. Rice; missed by children Christopher (Donna), Kevin (Rossitza) and Maureen (Bryan Williamson); grandchildren Kaitlyn, Eric, Megan, Lauren, Amanda and Andrew; sister Patricia Lucas; brother, William (Shirley); sister- and brother-in-law Janet and Dennis Lawlor; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
The family will be forever grateful for the perfect blend of love and care shown by the staff and caregivers at Silverado Memory Care in Valley Ranch. They know what was important to Jim and they provided him and his family with many happy and memorable days.
A Mass will be celebrated at 1:00PM on Saturday, September 24, 2016, at the St. Ann Catholic Church, 180 Samuel Blvd. in Coppell with a reception immediately following the Mass.
