

Passed away March 23, 2012. She was born in Weilburg, Germany on
July 8, 1925.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Karl and Lina Scharer,
her husband, Cyril E. Stirnkorb, sisters, Etta and Elsbeth , brother,
Karl and two grandchildren, Mickey Ray Pierce Jr. and Michelle Leigh
Stirnkorb.
Edith was a resident of Copperas Cove for fifty years. She was
a member of the V.F.W. post 8577 Ladies Auxiliary, the American
Legion Unit 580 Auxiliary. She was owner of the LaPetite Beauty Shop.
She also worked as a cook at Kentucky Fried Chicken along with her
two sisters, the Country Cottage, Cotton Eyed Joe’s and Fleet’s Inn
restaurants. She enjoyed spending time with her family and pets,
knitting, crossword puzzles and reading magazines from Germany.
She is survived by sons, Michael, Karl, and Jerome Stirnkorb,
and daughters, Virginia Pierce, Barbara Sundwall, Edith (Lucy)
Stirnkorb-House and Martina Walthall. Sisters, Helene Pignanelli,
Hedy McClellan, and brother Hans Scharer, nineteen grandchildren,
thirty-three great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services are scheduled for Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family
Catholic Church in Copperas Cove, with visitation starting at 10:00
a.m. Burial will be at the Central Texas Veterans Cemetery in
Killeen at 1:00 p.m.
