

Eldor was born February 17, 1934 in Coryell County to Theodore Schwausch and Hulda Richter Schwausch.
He graduated from Copperas Cove High School with the Class of 1951. He later served in the United States Air Force where he received the Good Conduct Medal and the National Service Defense Medal.
Upon returning to Copperas Cove Eldor was the local State Farm Insurance Agent for 32 years until his retirement. He was very active in the Community as a member of the Jaycee’s, the Copperas Cove Rotary Club, Copperas Cove Chamber of Commerce where he served as a cook for the Military Affairs Committee, the Lutheran Men’s Club and was a member of Duck’s Unlimited. Eldor was also very active with the Coryell County Youth Fair in Gatesville where he helped many children continue their education by raising money in Copperas Cove. He was also a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Eldor had a love for family, the outdoors, traveling, wood working, sports and working in his yard. He was very proud of the fact that his yard had been named “Yard of the Month” in Copperas Cove on numerous occasions. Eldor also enjoyed spending time on his ranch near where he was born raising cattle. He and his wife Luree were blessed with the opportunity to travel to many foreign destinations together.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Luree Schwausch of Copperas Cove; four sons, Stephen Schwausch and his wife Julie of Copperas Cove, Kyle Schwausch and his friend Dawn of Long Beach, CA, Kevin Schwausch and his wife Angela of Burnet and Neal Schwausch and his wife Donna of Copperas Cove; a daughter, Teresa Chavez and her husband Fred of Copperas Cove; nine grandchildren, Tommy, Stephanie, Jodi, Kayla, Jen, Blake, Tori, Brandon and Bryce; two great grandchildren, Molly and Shelby.
The Schwausch family will receive guests for a time of visitation from 5 o’clock until 7 o’clock in the evening on Sunday the twenty second day of November at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Copperas Cove. Funeral services will be held at 11 o’clock in the morning on Monday the twenty third day of November at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Wilbern Michalk officiating. Interment services will follow in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
