Ellen Rackley

Ellen E. Rackley, age 69, a long time resident of Copperas Cove, Texas passed away on Monday, July 14, 2025, surrounded by family. Ellen was born in Biloxi, Mississippi to Aleda and James Carter on September 22,1955.

Ellen was married to Robbie L. Rackley until his death in 2008. She was a devoted catholic and member of Holy Family Catholic Church, a homemaker, a substitute for Copperas Cove Independent School District, and a very proud Bulldawg fan. Ellen and Robbie opened their doors for family and friends to stay no matter the sacrifice. They didn't have much but they always made room for others - even if it meant sleeping on couches and floors - everyone was welcome. After her husband's passing, Mrs. Rackley enjoyed traveling to visit grandkids and friends.

Ellen is preceded in death by her husband, Robbie and two brothers, James Carter and David Carter.

She leaves behind an uncle, Wilbur Reaux of Mississippi; a brother, Donald Carter of Michigan; a son, Joshua Rackley of Texas; a daughter Misty Traigle and husband Louis of Copperas Cove, Texas; she also leaves behind three grandchildren: Hayden, Bryson, and Robbie as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass for Ellen will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church on Tuesday July 29, 2025 beginning at 11am. Immediately following the Mass, Ellen will be laid to rest at Kempner City Cemetery.
