Frankie Young

Mrs. Young graduated from high school, after which she spent several years in the military, earning various certificates. She was in the military until she met the love of her life, Mr. Carol W. Young, in Germany. After beginning her life as a military wife, she spent the rest of her time raising her four children. Although she held various jobs supporting her husband during his career, the one job she enjoyed the most and felt was a special privilege to her, was to assist with the special needs children at Copperas Cove Junior High School.

Frankie was member of Grace United Methodist Church in Copperas Cove.

She was also a member of the Red Hat Club and the Copperas Cove Trail Riding Club. She enjoyed many years with the riding club, serving as the secretary for several years. She enjoyed riding her horse along the trails with all of her friends and spending time with them. Her most enjoyable time was being on her horse and spending time with her friends who really loved and respected these beautiful animals.

Frankie was devoted to her family and loved spending all of her time with her husband and children. She moved all over the world supporting her husband and attending every academic and sporting events for her children. She always said her biggest accomplishment in life was being the most important person in her husband and children's lives.

Frankie is survived by daughter Carol (John) Vodrey; sons Jerry (Cindy) Young; Billy (Nancy) Young; adoptive son and daughter Rodney and Lovie Dunn; and ex-daughter-in-law Patty Area; brothers John and Rolland Ward; granddaughters Alicia (Rose) Young, Michelle (Jeff) Robinson, Jazmyne Howard, Jaycee Moses, and Natasha (Miles) Dahl; grandsons Bryan Young and Douglas Leslie; great grandchildren Olivia, Tyler, Bailor and Brynn.

Frankie was preceded in death by her husband, Carol W. Young, son Calvin Young; mother Sara Jane Ward and father Robert Franklin Ward.

A visitation for Frankie will be held Friday, October 20, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home , 211 W Ave B , Copperas Cove , Texas 76522. A graveside service will occur Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Copperas Cove City Cemetery.
