

James David Wylie, 63 died after a short battle with cancer on December 14, 2021 at Houston Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas. He was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas on October 17, 1958, the son of Ellis and Rose (Huff) Wylie.
James graduated from Amity High School (Class of 1977) in Amity, Oregon. Following graduation, he served in the U.S. Army for 20 years.
After retiring from the Army, James worked as a paramedic with the Copperas Cove Fire Department and later as a guard with the Texas Department of Corrections and as an office manager at Texas Star Shooting Range.
James married Andrea Lynn Coleman on March 21, 2001. James had two sons from a previous marriage: Michael Wylie (Copperas Cove) and Adam Wylie, his wife Angie with their three children (James’ grandchildren): Zoe, Alex, and RJ (Copperas Cove) and was instrumental in raising Andrea’s two sons from a previous marriage: Benjamin Lentz (Copperas Cove) and Austin Lentz with his wife, Kayla (Copperas Cove).
James was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife (Andrea), his two sons: Michael and Adam, his two step-sons: Benjamin and Austin, his brothers: Jason Wylie (Portland, Oregon), Jerry Wylie (Philomath, Oregon) and his sisters: Darlene West (Philomath, Oregon), Nita Anderson (Philomath, Oregon), and Bobbie Wiggins (Englewood, Ohio), three grandchildren and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial service for James will be held Monday, December 27, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home, 211 W Avenue B, Copperas Cove, Texas.
