

Funeral services for Jesus (Jesse) Garcia Trevino of Copperas Cove TX will be held at 10a.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Copperas Cove on Saturday, November 14, 2015. Jesse was born on October 17, 1931 in Victoria Texas and died November 9, 2015 in his home surrounded by family and friends in Copperas Cove TX. Jesse was preceded in death by his wife Eva Maria, a daughter Linda Trevino and son Glen Trevino, his parents Felipe and Manuela Trevino, 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
He is survived by his children Raymond Trevino and wife Elizabeth, James Trevino and spouse Linda Grubb, Diana Cline and husband Kenneth, Yvonne Davis and husband Richard all of Copperas Cove, grandson Jason Davis and spouse Frances Defoor of Salado, six great grandchildren, brother Philip Trevino of Victoria TX, sister in law Erika Bennett and husband William of Sarasota FL, sister in law Beatrice Trevino of Victoria TX, companion Gisela Gomer of Harker Heights TX, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Jesse entered the US Army, January 9, 1951, at Camp Atterbury, MD as an infantryman and retired at Fort Hood TX December 1, 1977, as the Administrative Support Noncommissioned Officer, III Corps and Fort Hood, with the rank of Sergeant First Class (SFC). During his 27 years of service; he served one tour in Germany, one tour in Korea and two tours in Viet Nam along with numerous stateside assignments. A special accomplishment from 1962 to 1964 was the honor to serve as a member of the Competition Rifle Team at Fort Knox KY, where he distinguished himself by being a “sharp shooter” earning him many awards and trophies. Jesse was also decorated with numerous medals and commendations including the Combat Infantryman Badge, Bronze Star Medal and Meritorious Service Medal.
After his military retirement he was employed by Cove State Bank which later became National Banks of Central Texas from 1978 to 2001. During his employment he received his Associate Degree from Central Texas College and also was a member of the DECA Club where he competed in competitions and won numerous awards.
Visitation is from 6-8p.m. on Friday, November 13, 2015 at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home in Copperas Cove TX. A Rosary will be recited at 8p.m. following visitation.
A full military Inurnment will held on Monday, November 23, 2015 at 10a.m. at the Central Texas State Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Killeen TX.
