

John served in the U.S. Army from 1977 until his Retirement in 1997. During his time in the service, he was stationed at Fort Dix, Fort Bragg, Fort Hood, and Germany. After Retirement John enjoyed watching Basketball, Football and Wrestling. He also enjoyed coon hunting with his hunting dogs.
John is survived by his wife, Rosaline Mantanona; brother Joseph, brother Kenneth, brother Issac and sister Debra.
John was preceded in death by; father Jesus Mantanona and mother Rosa Taitague; sister Annie; sister Jean and sister Rosaline.
A visitation for John will be held Monday, March 9, 2020 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home, 211 W Avenue B, Copperas Cove, Texas. A recitation of the rosary will occur Monday, March 9, 2020 at 7:00 PM, 211 W Avenue B, Copperas Cove, Texas. A funeral mass will occur Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at 12:00 PM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1001 Georgetown Rd, Copperas Cove, Texas. A burial with military honors will occur Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 11463 State Highway 195, Killeen, Texas.
