Joseph Chidboy

Joe Chidboy was born in Spangler, PA. on August 16, 1937 to the late Frank and Eva Chidboy. He went to Cambria County High School. After graduating, Joe joined the United States Army in 1956. In his military career he earned many commendations and received the Meritorious Service Medal while serving as 3D Brigade Maintenance Manager. He was a Vietnam Veteran. After serving his country for 22 years he then worked for Civil Service until his retirement from Fort Hood.

He lived in Copperas Cove over 50 years and was popular from his love of music. He enjoyed playing for birthdays, weddings, and holidays. He became Little Joe's Disco; he DJ'd in many VFWs and American Legions over 40 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Joe Chidboy Jr. He is survived by Setuko "Suzie" Board, Helga Fritz, Daughter Darlene Gober (Tommy), and daughter in law Nancy Medcalf, along with grandchildren Michelle Abrahamson, Steve Dyer (Lauren), Courtney Gibson (Philip), Sam Hunter (Beatrice); great grandchildren Kayla, Ryleigh, Joe, Lucas, Stetson, Jonathan, Mason, Hayden, Steve Jr., Lexi, Lizzy, Jason, Josie, Jeanette, and Hattie; great-great grandchildren Owen and Calvyn; as well as special friends Frenchie Meyer and Josie Meyer.

A Graveside Service will be held at 12:00 pm on February 7th at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas.
