Joyce Ann Pitts

Joyce was raised in Mount Holly with her 4 brothers and graduated from Rancocous High School in 1965. On July 18 of 1981, Joyce married her husband, John Wayne Pitts in her home town of Mount Holly. Later in 1986, they moved to Fort Hood, Texas.

For 30 years, Joyce worked in Civil Service as a typist. After her retirement, Joyce enjoyed cross stitching, crocheting, gardening, and spending time with her family. Joyce was a very friendly woman and loved conversations with others; she never met a stranger. She spent a lot of her time serving at the Copperas Cove Senior Center.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John Wayne Pitts.

Joyce is survived by her children; Richard Schmelia and wife Dorothy, Robert Schmelia and wife Jennifer, Brian Schmelia and wife Amy, and Joyce Jones and husband Charlie. She also leaves behind to honor her memory her grandchildren; Jessica, Rebecca, Jennifer, Brian Jr., Jason, Chuck, Liam, Elissyah along with many friends.

A memorial service for Joyce will be held Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Crawford-Bowers, 211 W Ave B, Copperas Cove, Texas 76522.
