Ms. Compton was called to rest on May 24, 2010 at her residence.
She was born February 18, 1948 in Oberlin, Ohio to Morris Braun (Bo) and Katherine (Balzer) Braun.
Most of her life she spent working as a PBA, she was a vital part of the many, big projects in the construction field.
Six years ago she founded the Copperas Cove Freecycle Network and served her community as the moderator. She loved this group because it is all “Free”. This online group trades goods and services. She felt she helped the whole community and was proud of the real purpose to save our landfill space and help neighbors by giving stuff that is no longer needed to others to people that can use it. She graduated with honors and was proud to be a member of the Rainbow Girls. She was an avid reader, and was artistically gifted. Linda enjoyed a large number of crafts and had a love for all animals.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Linda is survived by two daughters, Brandee Gamel, and Heather Helmer of Kempner and two sons Christopher Morrow of Kempner, and Kevin Morrow of Killeen, two sons-in-law Paul Gamel and Earl Helmer III; all of Kempner; one daughter in law, Brittney Morrow of Killeen, seven grandchildren, Brandon Gamel, Kyle Helmer, Justin Helmer, Lacee Gamel, Kaylee Helmer, Ryan and Evin Morrow, and her very special four-legged friend that will stay with the family and was adopted from Freecycle… her best friend Levi Strauss.
