

Madonna, or Donna as her sisters called her, was born and raised in Kokomo, Indiana. She was the fourth of seven daughters born to Daniel A. Kinney and Lucile Lewis Kinney. She married her husband W. Max Schroeter in 1957. Madonna was the mother of five children who were the joy of her life. Because of her husband's military career, Madonna lived in several states and Germany before retiring in Texas. Madonna became an avid quilter later on in life and her quilts are cherished by those lucky enough to receive her special quilts.
She is survived by her children Teresa Winters (Steve), Maureen Schroeter, Michael Schroeter (Mary Kay), Christopher Schroeter; grandchildren, Stephen Winters Jr., Jennifer Wiggins (David), Darrellyn Schroeter, Herbert Schroeter, Max Schroeter; great grandchildren Kimball Bruce Wiggins, Akkhina-Sammy Wiggins; sisters Dana L. Carlson, Mary Jo Kinney, Rita Michael, Kimberly Wedell (Bruce), and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces , and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, W. Max Schroeter, a daughter Pamela Jane Schroeter, her parents Daniel Kinney and Lucile Kinney Stahl, and 3 sisters Rebecca Jane Kinney, Roberta Crandall and Ruth Kinney-Geyer.
A visitation for Madonna will be held Monday, August 26, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home, 211 West Ave B, Copperas Cove, TX 76522. Funeral Mass will occur Tuesday, August 27, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1001 Georgetown Rd, Copperas Cove, TX 76522.
