

Malea was born June 29, 1969 in Killeen, Texas to Charles Bunnell and Tana (Rainbolt) Bunnell.
Malea attended and graduated from Killeen Baptist Temple with the Class of 1987. After graduation she attended Central Texas College and began working for Texas Department of Corrections where she worked for 25 years until retiring in 2014.
She enjoyed pestering people, riding horses, arts and crafts spending time with her family, hunting for arrowheads, and the outdoors. She spent many hours taking her children to Rodeos, livestock shows and any event they wanted to be a part of. She was the biggest cheerleader they had.
She was preceded in death by both her paternal grandparents and her maternal grandparents and an uncle.
She leaves behind to treasure her memory her husband, Blu Hartley of Gatesville; two sons, Bandy Hartley and Rody Hartley and his wife Chealsiy all of Gatesville and two daughters, Charlie Bunnell of Kempner and Frankie Miller of Gatesville, two grandchildren, Chance and Raylin of Gatesville, an aunt, two uncles and numerous cousins.
One of Malea’s favorite sayings was “The best sermons in life are lived not preached.”
The family will receive guests for a time of visitation from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday at the Gatesville Civic Center. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Gatesville Civic Center. Cremation will follow and Malea’s cremated remains will be laid to rest next to her favorite horse Charlie Brown on her childhood home place.
