Robert Young Barnhardt

Robert joined the U.S. Army in 1968. He served honorably for 23 years and achieved the rank of Sergeant Major. During his time in the Army, he served in Vietnam for 3 years and Desert Storm. He received many awards including the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal with 1 silver service star and 3 bronze service stars, along with many others.

After his retirement from the Army, Robert was an Automotive Supervisor for West Tech International Incorporated supporting the U.S. Army Operational Test Command at Fort Hood for just short of 30 years. In his free time, Robert enjoyed fishing, riding his motorcycle, and camping and caring for his dogs Daisy, Bear, and Tiny.

Robert is preceded in death by both his parents, a sister Nancy Barbie and a brother Bobby Ray Barnhardt.

Robert is survived by his wife of 27 years, Cynthia Barnhardt; sons Robbie Barnhardt, Marcus Barnhardt, and Fred Bezonia III; daughters, Wendy Barnhardt and Barbara; siblings, Marcus B. Barnhardt, Jayleen Lemmonds, Barry Barnhardt; and 7 grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday December 16, 2022 at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home of Copperas Cove, Texas beginning at 2pm.
