

Robert Jürgen Murphree, 61, of Copperas Cove, TX, peacefully passed away on March 10th, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and strength that will forever be cherished by those who knew him.
Born on April 19th, 1962, in Bad Kissingen, Germany, Robert ventured to Texas in the 1970s with his family. He graduated from Copperas Cove High School and went on to proudly serve his country as a Petty Officer Third Class aboard the USS Midway. Following his honorable Navy service, he dedicated himself to his family and career. Robert retired from the City of Killeen in 2013 after making significant contributions to operations at the Robert Gray Army Airfield, leaving an enduring mark on all who crossed his path.
Robert embodied the roles of a devoted son, father, brother, and friend. His unwavering compassion, generosity, and gentle spirit touched countless lives. His passions spanned from computers and firearms to history, motorcycling, and caring for his tropical fish, yet his greatest devotion was always reserved for his family. As a steadfast pillar of strength and support, he offered guidance and unconditional love, radiating warmth and joy wherever he went.
In addition to his cherished family, Robert will be deeply missed by numerous friends and colleagues. His profound impact on the lives of others is immeasurable, and his memory will forever be treasured. While we grieve his loss, we find solace in the belief that Robert has found peace, reunited with loved ones who preceded him.
Robert is preceded in death by his grandparents, Erwin and Anna Beer, and his stepfather, Major Dale Roger Shultz. He is survived by his mother, Renate Shultz; his brothers, Christian Roland Murphree, Lester Weldon Murphree, and Thomas Warren Murphree; as well as his son and daughter-in-law, Scott and April Murphree.
A Memorial Service will be held at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home on Monday March 25, 2024 beginning at 10am. Interment Services will be held at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery at 2pm where the Navy will render military honors.
As we bid farewell, we carry Robert's memory in our hearts, finding comfort in the love and cherished memories he left behind. May he rest in eternal peace with our Lord.
