Velta Wayne Howe

Born December 1, 1940 in Cleburne, Texas to William W. Howe and Delia (Davis) Howe. Velta lived in Cleburne until joining the US Army on July 11, 1960. First stationed at Fort Hood and then three tours in Vietnam. Velta married Linda (Allen) Howe on March 30, 1973. He was then stationed in Oklahoma, Germany and Indiana. He retired on July 1, 1983. Upon his retirement the family made their home in Copperas Cove, Texas.

Velta earned an Associates Degree in Applied Science in 1986. He enjoyed electronics, wood working and was an avid coin collector. He looked forward to going to McDonald's every morning for coffee..

Velta is survived by daughter Danna Armstrong of Copperas Cove. Grandchildren Marcus Armstrong, Bryant Howe, Alan Howe, Johanna Howe and Isabel Howe, all from Copperas Cove, Texas. Sister Faye Harrell of Rio Vista, Texas and Ray Howe of Whitney, Texas. Several nieces and nephews.

Velta is preceded in death by both parents William and Delia Howe. Brothers Marshall, Herschel, and Eston Howe, wife Linda Howe and son Tony Howe.
