

Funeral services for Alonzo Huggins "Lon" Taylor, Jr. are set for two o'clock in the afternoon on Sunday, April 29, 2012 at First Presbyterian Church in Corinth with Dr. Don Elliot officiating. Burial will be in Henry Cemetery.
Mr. Taylor died on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born April 16, 1923 to the late A.H. and Annie Lou Biggers Taylor. He was a graduate of the University of Mississippi, where he was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. He served his country in the United States Army, was a very active member of the Kiwanis Club and helped found Corinth Theater Arts. Mr. Taylor was a lifetime member and Elder Emeritus of the First Presbyterian Church. He was also a partner in Biggers Hardware.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Betty Bowen Taylor and his grandson, Collin Parker Counce.
He is survived by his son, A.H. "Lon" Taylor III and wife Teresa of Corinth; four daughters, Annette Thomas and husband Larry of Clinton, MS, Kim Smith and husband Scott of Houston, TX, Carole Counce and husband Mike of Cordova, TN, and Gayle Webster and husband Ruston of Nashville, TN; five grandchildren, Matt and Neal Thomas and Hannah, Jacob, and Drew Webster; five great-grandchildren, Nathan, Hayden, Elise, Case, and Ella Thomas and a host of friends.
The family would like to recognize, honor and thank his very special caregivers at Loving Care.
Visitation will begin at one o'clock in the afternoon on Sunday in the fellowship hall of First Presbyterian Church.
