Bessie E. Smith

Funeral Services for Bessie E. Smith are set for 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Corinth with Bro. Dennis Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeland Memorial Park in Jackson, MS.

Mrs. Smith died on Sunday, December 6, 2015 at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth. She was born on August 25, 1926 to the late Elzie and Mamie Jane McDonald in Newton County, MS. She moved to Corinth nine years ago and became member of First Baptist Church. She was also an Eastern Star.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Smith and one brother, Harold McDonald.

Survivors include two sons, Bro. Dennis Smith and wife Susan and Donald Smith and wife Gail; five grandchildren, Megan Johnson and her husband Dr. Russ, Casey Smith and wife Kellie Jo, Kristin Tull and husband Lee, Amanda Blissard and husband Clint, and Dustin Smith; five great-grandchildren, and a host of friends.

The family will receive friends beginning at 9:00 A.M. at the church.
