

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 22, 2011 from 9:30 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. at The First Baptist Church, Corinth, MS. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday July 22, 2011 at 11:00 A.M., at The First Baptist Church, in Corinth, MS. with Rev. Dennis Smith officiating.
Mrs. McDonald is survived by her husband of 26 years, Charles Palmer McDonald. Donna was born and reared in Corinth, and a Graduate of the Corinth High School Class of 1966. She received a B.A. in English from Blue Mountain College and later earned a M.A. in Library Science from the University of Alabama. Donna was the Librarian at Corinth Public Library for eighteen years. Though her husband’s job required moving away for periods of time, she considered Corinth her home. She was very active in the community and a life member of the Corinth Junior Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading literature, gardening, cooking, and especially loved making her friends welcomed in their home. In the past 3 years, Donna faced her illness with the same grace and dignity with which she lived her life.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her parents, Wilford Brant “Bud” and Jean Taylor Johnson; a sister, Dale Johnson Ables and husband Jess; a brother, Dr. Tony Johnson (Marilyn); step-children, Tracey and Rob Barefield, Christy and Lee Howard, Chad and Karen McDonald; Step-grandchildren, Jamison and Palmer Barefield, Jordan and Riley Howard, Madison and Chase McDonald.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the Corinth High School Class of 1966.
