

A Celebration of Life Service for Doris Virginia Holcomb 85 is set for 11:00 am Wednesday at Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Trey Lambert and Bro, Josh Hodum officiating. Graveside service will follow in the Ecru Cemetery at 2:00pm
Family and Friends Gathering will be Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm and Wednesday from 10:00 am to service time
Doris died November 18, 2023 at Diversicare in Ripley, MS. She was born October 30, 1938 in Alcorn Co. MS. to the late Jimmy and Ruby Carter Plaxico. She was a retired waitress, having worker for over twenty years at Hillandale Country Club; she attended Gaines Chapel Methodist Church until her illness. She was known as the “Coke Lady” for her collecting of Coco-Cola memorable for many years; and she enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her son, Johnny Dewayne Hall; parents; and her brother, James Plaxico.
She is survived by her son, Jerry Rogers (Staphen); sister, Dorothy Wood; grandchildren, Justin Rogers (Abbi), Trey Rogers, Casey Loyd (Hunter); great grandchildren, Kaitlee-Neal Loyd, Ledger Loyd, Anna Frances Rogers and Jackson Rogers;
Pallbearers, Tony Davis, Lee Switcher, Sammy Robertson, Gary Hodum, Wally Hurley, Matt Wood, Trey Rogers, Justin Rogers.
