Mr. Smith died on Monday, December 17, 2012 at Magnolia Regional Health Center. He was born in Corinth on June 22, 1951 to the late Douglas and Mildred Brown Smith. Mr. Smith served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, was a machinist at SDI, worked in security for Brach Candy Factory, and loved fishing, hunting and trading knives.
He is survived by one son, Jimmie Dale Smith Jr. and wife Shelley of Rienzi; two daughters, Jennifer Flake of Corinth and Julie Kinkennon and husband Clifford III of Glen; five brothers, Carroll Smith of Corinth, Leonard Smith and wife Virginia of Rienzi, Rich Smith and wife Tracy of Rienzi, Lonnie Smith and wife Mary of Plainfield, IL, and Tom Smith and wife Stephanie of Gahanna, OH; eight grandchildren, Austin, Charles, Clayton, Makynlee, Chance, Courtney, Icelynn, and Myles; the mother of his children, Sophia Smith of Corinth; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
