Mr. Luker died on Wednesday, April 30th at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth. He was born on November 24, 1943 to the late James “Big Daddy” and Wilma “Big Mama” Cox Luker. He was a long haul truck driver that really enjoyed his job, due to the fact that he got to travel all over the country. But after long trips, he loved spending time with his family; especially his kids and grandkids. In the winter, he would often find an inner tube or some cardboard to pull them on behind the four-wheeler when it snowed. In the spring, he couldn’t wait until it was warm enough to get the grill out and start cooking; not only for his family, but the whole community. He was also a big Dallas Cowboys, Boston Celtics, and St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Along with his parents, Mr. Luker was preceded in death by one brother, Jerry Luker; and two sisters, Rheba Broadway and Donna Derryberry.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Jackie Luker; one son, Jamie Luker; three daughters, Wendy Sparks and husband Ted, Cindy Kail and husband Keith and Jessie Luker; one brother, John Luker and wife Ginger; one sister, Myrna Luker; nine grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
