

Services are set for 4:00 P.M. today at McPeters Funeral Home Chapel with military honors. Visitation will be 2:30 P.M. until service time with burial in the City Cemetery.
Mr. Miller was born on September 24, 1930, in Corinth to Frank and Zetha Miller. He graduated from Corinth High School in 1948 and rose to the rank of Eagle Scout. He attended Memphis State and was a graduate of Union University in 1953 where he played football and ran track.
After graduation, he entered the United States Navy where he was an aviator and an officer and rose to the rank of Commander before retiring in 1974. During his time in the Navy, he was stationed in California; Rhode Island; Florida; Puerto Rico; Washington D.C.; Helsinki, Finland; and Millington, TN. After 21 years of active service in the Navy, he and his family returned to Corinth and he became the Executive Director of the Alcorn County Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where he served as Deacon.
Early in his naval career, Mr. Miller met his wife Marillyn in Coronado, Calif. They married on August 18,1956, and had three children.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Marillyn and daughter Teri Ann.
Mr. Miller is survived by his daughter Sarah Miller and husband Mike of College Station, TX; son Tom Miller and wife Michele of Jackson, TN; four grandchildren, Katherine & Max Miller of College Station, TX, Will and Annah Miller of Jackson, TN; and Aunt Margaret Dowty of Memphis, TN.
