

Harrison was born October 22, 1935, son to the late Jamie Dalton Spear and Leonard Harrison Spear, Sr. He graduated from Corinth High School and Northeast Mississippi Junior College, and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Mississippi. In 1955, he married Vivian Janis North of Corinth, Mississippi.
In 1960, he joined ITT Kellogg, where he worked 26 years in several accounting and management positions. Mr. Spear was a member of First Presbyterian Church, serving as Deacon, Elder, and chairman of the church Deacons’ fund. He served as President of the Corinth Jaycees. He will forever be remembered by his family as a great husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother. He was kind, humble, and generous. He cheerfully gave of his time and talents and encouraged others to do the same. This was his joyful response to God’s love in sending His only Son to save him.
In addition to his parents, Harrison was preceded in death by his son Leonard Harrison Spear III, his sister Mary Elizabeth Barton and and his great-grandson David Elfert.
He is survived by his wife Janis Spear; daughter Cindy Erickson and her husband Jimmy Erickson of Yazoo City, Mississippi; daughter Vivian Farris and her husband Hank Farris of Taylor, Mississippi; daughter Judy Kruger and her husband Barry Kruger of San Antonio, Texas; granddaughters Kelly Elfert and her husband Roger Elfert, Courtney Walker and her husband Chris Walker, Jamie Hargett and her husband Matt Hargett, Katie Mault and her husband Mason Mault, and Janis Kruger; grandsons Brett Farris and his wife Laura Farris, Wesley Kruger and his wife Elise Kruger; great-grandchildren Katherine Elfert, Larkin Elfert, Harrison Elfert, James Walker, Margaret Walker, Ellen Walker, Eric Hargett, Daniel Hargett, and Maggie Mault; his sister Mildred Pratt Norman and several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank all of Harrison’s faithful caregivers for their untiring love and care.
Visitation will be in the fellowship hall at First Presbyterian Church on Thursday, July 20 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, followed by a memorial service in the First Presbyterian Church sanctuary.
