

Lex Rhodes Jr., age 65, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2025, at his residence. He was born July 26, 1960, to the late Lex Rhodes Sr. and Nina Anne Biggers Rhodes. A private family graveside service will be on Sunday, January 4, 2026 at New Hope Presbyterian Church. Following the graveside there will be a reception celebrating the fullness of Lex's life with friends and family from 3pm until 5pm at the Tavern at Pizza Grocery.
A graduate of Biggersville High School, Class of 1978, Lex went on to attend Mississippi State University. He dedicated more than 35 years to Biggers Hardware and most recently worked at Corinth Mill Supply. A true jack of all trades, Lex knew a little bit about everything and was often everyone’s first phone call when help was needed. He was dependable, unwavering, and easygoing in all that he did.
Lex was a world traveler who loved bringing new knowledge and stories back home to share. Time spent on the water brought him great joy. A skilled sailboat captain, he led many trips over the years, creating lasting memories for all who joined him. Days on the water at Pickwick served as the backdrop to countless stories and cherished moments. Lex ran marathons, participated in triathlons, and flew hot air balloons over the years. He also held a pilot’s license, further reflecting his love of adventure. He was passionate about the outdoors and wildlife, famously helping several Corinthians with their insect collections.
Above all, Lex treasured his time with family and friends. His people meant the world to him, and many were proud to call him their “best friend.” His character was evident in the deep relationships he built and the genuine care he showed to so many people. His presence was marked by laughter, fun, and an easy joy that drew people together.
In addition to his parents, Lex was preceded in death by his brother, Jeff Rhodes.
Lex is survived by his daughter, Ashley Rhodes Mize (Boomer);grandchildren, Palmer Mize and Martha Mize; brother, Matt Rhodes (Missy); nieces, Madeline Rhodes, Meloney Rhodes Gantez, Julie Rhodes Rojas, and Della Rhodes.
Memorials in Lex’s honor may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
