Linda Blackard

Services to celebrate the life of Linda Blackard, 79, will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday at Wheeler Grove Baptist Church with burial to follow in Wheeler Grove Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday evening from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Wheeler Grove.

Linda passed away on January 31, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Union County, MS on September 15, 1945, to the late Loyd and Lanie Ruth Robbins. She went to school at Ingomar Attendance Center. She dedicated her life to working with Wheeler Grove Baptist Church. She was activities director and youth director, however, she did so much more beyond her title. She cooked for events, raised funds to further the church along and made it a better place for all. In her spare time, she enjoyed working in her yard and her flowers. She desperately loved her family and loved spending time with them.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Bro. Kara Blackard; sons, Ronnie Blackard (Connie) and Steve Blackard (Sandy); grandchildren, Tiffany Shirley (Cody), Trey Blackard, Seth Blackard and Chloe Suitor (Jordan); great-grandchildren, Lexi and Brayden Shirley; and a host of other friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Pallbearers will be the Deacon’s of the Wheeler Grove Baptist Church.
