Richard Leatherwood

Richard died May 24, 2015 at Mississippi Care Center. He was born August 18, 1937 in Alcorn Co. MS. to the late Richard Leatherwood and Mattie Henderson Coln. He was a 1957 graduate of Farmington High School where he was president of the FFA and played on the basketball team. Richard served his country as a Sgt. in the U.S. Army. He was a certified ASE mechanic and retired as a Mechanic. He enjoyed fishing, horses and animals.

Along with his parents; Richard was preceded in death by his brothers; Walter, Thomas, Paul T., and James Leatherwood; and his sisters; Lee Hamilton, Carrie Lancaster, and Ida Lancaster.

He is survived by his sons; Joey (Christie) Leatherwood, Eddie (Lisa) Leatherwood both of Corinth, brother; Marcus (Martha) Leatherwood, sister; Mary Alice (Fletcher) Cook, and the mother of his children; Nora Leatherwood. He also leaves behind his 4 grandchildren; Danielle, Richie, A.J., and Chris Leatherwood, and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be tonight from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home and Thursday from 12:00 p.m. until service time at Pinecrest Baptist Church.
