Ronald passed away on May 3, 2025, at Magnolia Regional Health Center. Ronald was born on November 2, 1939 to the late John Allen Windsor and Opal Glidewell. Ronald was a trailblazer in a colorful life that created legendary stories in courtrooms throughout Mississippi and towns spanning from New Orleans to Oxford to Corinth and all parts in between. A graduate of Corinth High School in 1958, Ronald furthered his education at the University of Mississippi where he began his life-long love affair with the Rebels. He was the first in his family to graduate college and soon after entered law school at Ole Miss, where he learned the law and honed a communication style like none other. His drive, along with his flair, helped him give a voice to the voiceless and take on legal challenges that others would shy away from. His commitment to service also led him to join the Mississippi National Guard, where he proudly served his country.
Upon returning to Corinth, Ronald embarked on a distinguished career as a lawyer, earning a reputation as a legal legend in his community, while also serving in elective office as an Election Commissioner and later Alcorn County Prosecuting Attorney. His unwavering dedication to justice and his clients left an indelible mark on the lives he touched. Ronald was not only a skilled attorney but also a mentor to many, guiding aspiring lawyers with wisdom and kindness. In addition to his legal career, Ronald was a proud 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite, embodying the values of brotherhood and service. He was deeply engaged in the political landscape, passionately following both local and national issues.
He loved spending Saturdays in The Grove, readying to cheer on the Rebs at Vaught-Hemingway. He lived a life of optimism, always believing the next season was going to be “The One” for the Rebels.
After retirement, he lived in New Orleans, Paris, Mexico, and Oxford, before returning home to practice law with his son, John Oliver Windsor, in Corinth in 2013. He was at his office checking in on things just days before his death.
Ronald's legacy of kindness will endure through those who knew him best. He grew up on welfare and wound up dining in the finest restaurant Paris had to offer. He had a gift of being able to touch and care for those in every segment of society. Nobody was ever too good and nobody was ever too low. Ronald could bring people together like none other.
He lived life with an infectious energy that made people gravitate toward him. One of his favorite songs was Toby Keith’s “Don’t Let the Old Man In.” We can confidently say, the old man never came in.
He will be remembered not only for his professional accomplishments but also for his charm, quick wit and love for his family. There is no doubt that his family was his greatest accomplishment.
In addition to his parents, Ronald is preceded in death by his daughter, Kristye Sweat.
Ronald is survived by his son, John Oliver Windsor and his wife Claire; grandchildren Grace Windsor, Jack Windsor, Polly Windsor, and Brady Allen and his wife Ana; great grandchild, William Allen; and a host of other family and friends.
Honorary Pallbearers are Frank Howell, Lex Rhodes, Camp Pittman, Rick Quinn, Dale Castleberry, Bob Moore and Buddy Ayers along with Members of the Alcorn County Bar Association and the Borroum’s Lunch Crew.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Corinth Alcorn Animal Shelter or The Grove Collective at The University of Mississippi in Ronald’s memory.
