

A Celebration of Life for Senior Airman Craig Talley is set for 2:30 P.M. Saturday, January 17, 2015, at Oakland Baptist Church. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery. Craig died at Kunsan Air Base in South Korea where he was currently serving our country in the United States Air Force.
Craig was born February 28, 1992. He was a member of Tishomingo Chapel Baptist Church and was active in the youth group there. He graduated from Kossuth High School in 2010, where he played football and was in the band. He won several awards from the local level to the state level, NASA Awards, and two awards from the Air Force, for science fair projects he had done. Besides being an honor roll student, he was offered a college scholarship based on his high ACT score. Craig participated in many community projects for the betterment of our county.
On March 11, 2011, Craig graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, in San Antonio, Texas. During his military career, he was stationed at Sheppard Air Base in Wichita Falls, Texas, where he received training to become an Aircrew Flight Equipment Apprentice. Upon completion, he was stationed at Elmendorf Air Base in Anchorage, Alaska, where he was promoted to Aircrew Flight Equipment Journeyman. While serving in the Air Force, he was deployed on numerous missions with Special Forces in Afghanistan, South Africa, and the Middle East. Since August 2014, Craig has been stationed at Kunsan Air Base in South Korea with the 8th Fighter Wing. Craig has received several awards throughout his military career including the Air Force Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service, Global War on Terrorism, Korean Defense Service, Overseas Ribbon, Expeditionary Service Ribbon, and Air Force Training Ribbon.
Craig enjoyed all sports, camping, fishing, snowboarding, which he learned while stationed in Alaska, and acting in plays at Corinth Theatre Arts in Corinth.
Senior Airman Craig Talley was preceded in death by his grandparents Clara Davis, Durell Rogers, great grandparents John and Modenia Waldon, Mildred and Jim Wilson, Jeff and Pauline Davis.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Sandra and Aaron Rogers, father and stepmother, Stephen and Kim Talley, grandparents, Robert and Carolyn Waldon, Jimmy and Elaine Talley, Wanda Rogers, brothers, Hagen Talley, Blake Rogers, Josh Rogers, Tyler Johnston, Taylor Johnston, honorary grandparents, Randle and Judy Wilbanks, aunts and uncles Tina (Lonnie) McKee, Terry (Tammy) Waldon, Michael (Susan) Waldon, Tim (Cindy) Talley, Shannon (Sandra) Talley, Christy (Lucky) Briggs and a host of other family and friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Kossuth High School Class of 2010.
The family will receive friends prior to the funeral service from 11:00 to 2:15 at Oakland Baptist Church.
A Craig Talley Memorial Scholarship Fund has been set up at any Renasant Bank.
