McDONALD, Alfred “Alfie” – peacefully, with his family by his side, at Cornwall Hospice on Friday December 30, 2022 at the age of 81 years. Beloved husband of Annie (née McCormick) for 57 years. Loving father of Kim Dirschl (Hal) of Calgary and Dwayne McDonald (Christine) of Cornwall. Proud grandpa of Emma, Heather, Cylie (Jo), Cody (Jayme) and great grandpa of Oaklynn and Brantley. Older brother to Iona (the late Paul), Marilyn (Ted), Cecilia (Al), Brian (Cate), Wayne, Adele (Bob) and brother-in-law of Bernie (Elaine), Christena, Isabelle, Monica (Peter), Heather and Marlene. Predeceased by his parents Clinton McDonald, Janet (née McKinnon) McDonald, his siblings Mark, Betty, Karen and infant granddaughter Katie. Alfie was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #5068 and dedicated volunteer of St. Columban’s Parish. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to LAHAIE & SULLIVAN CORNWALL FUNERAL HOMES, West Branch, 20 Seventh Street West (613-932-8482). Funeral Service for Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday January 5, 2023 in St. Columban’s Church at 11 a.m. Spring interment, St. Catherine of Sienna Cemetery, Greenfield.
