André is survived by his mother Yolanda Gabriele; his loving wife of 54 years Ginette Loiselle Laplante; his three children Mario Laplante (Lana), Marcko Laplante, and Pascale Laplante-Foley (Jason); his seven grandchildren Jeremy, Pearson, Loran, Sara, Lawson, Parker, and Grayson; his five step grand-children, Courtney, Raigan, Nolan, Cory and Lindsay; and his one great-grandson Sébastien.
André will be dearly missed by all his brothers and sisters, his many nieces and nephews, his brother-in-law Michel Loiselle (Josée) and many friends.
André is predeceased by his father André Laplante and his sister Jacqueline Laplante.
He was an accomplished welder and pipefitter that worked across Canada as well as internationally.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Cornwall Hospice, the nurses at Bayshore, the staff at Ottawa General Hospital and the staff at Cornwall Community Hospital.
In keeping with André’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A gathering to celebrate André’s life will be held at LAHAIE AND SULLIVAN WEST BRANCH AT 20 SEVENTH STREET W on MONDAY SEPTEMBER 18th between the hours of 3:00PM and 5:00PM
