SPAGNOLO, Antonio “Tony the Tailor” – At the St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre on Friday January 16, 2015. Antonio (Tony) Spagnolo was born in Plati, Reggio Calabria, Italy on June 30, 1932. He was 82. He leaves his loving wife of 57 years, Elisabetta (Trimboli) Spagnolo. Dear father of Frank Spagnolo (Donna), Joe Spagnolo (Doris) and Lisa McDonald (Robert). Sadly missed by 6 grandchildren, Anthony, Amanda (Michael), Nicolas, Jeremie, Ryan, Katherine and one great grandson, Joey. Dear brother of Guiseppe (Joe) Spagnolo (Antonetta), Pasquale (Pat) Spagnolo (Rosa), Paolo (Paul) Spagnolo (Caterina “Cathy“) and Rosario (Ross) Spagnolo (Brenda) all of Cornwall, Rocco Spagnolo (Maria) of Australia, Sam Spagnolo (Carmela) and Teresa LaSala (Ralph) both of Potsdam, NY. Predeceased by his parents, Francesco and Elisabetta (Zappia) Spagnolo, two sisters, Maria Sergi (Sam), Caterina (Cathy) Spagnolo and two brothers, Domenico Spagnolo (Maria) and Graziano Spagnolo (in infancy). Friends will be received at the M. John Sullivan Funeral Home, 341 Pitt Street (across from city hall) Cornwall on Tuesday from 2 – 4pm and 7 – 9pm and on Wednesday from 9:30 – 10:30am. Funeral Mass Wednesday January 21, 2015 at St. Columban’s Catholic Church at 11am. Rite of Committal to follow at Capital Memorial Gardens, Ottawa. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to Heart & Stroke Foundation or the MS Society would be appreciated by the family.
