It is with great sadness that Claudette (née Tremblay), after 53 years of marriage, announces the passing of her beloved husband, after his courageous battle with cancer, peacefully, at home, surrounded by family.
He is survived by his sister Gisele Lajoie (Normand Lemieux) of Ottawa and his uncle, Rev. Laurent Nadeau of Edmundston, N.B. Clarence will be missed by his many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents, Fortunat and Yvette (née Nadeau) Lajoie and by his three sisters, Muriel (Gerald) Raymond, Micheline Lajoie (Jean Nolan) and Jovette Lajoie along with his brother, Ronald Lajoie.
Clarence had a multifaceted career in administration with different companies. He joined The Quebec and Ontario Transportation Limited, a subsidiary of The Ontario Paper Company in 1970 to retire in February 2001. He had impeccable work ethics.
Clarence enjoyed the outdoors, whether on his 3-Wheeler ATV, gardening or long peaceful walks. He was also an avid angler and hunter. Over the years, he organized and played hockey for 27 years, along with tennis for over 20 years.
Clarence had a passion for food, lived to eat and enjoyed cooking. He was also a romantic, could often be heard serenading his wife on the keyboard.
A true gentlemen that will be greatly missed.
