Frederick "Cheesey" John Cheesman

Loving father of Karen Moore (Butch) and Scott Cheesman (Lisa). Proud grandpa of: Adam MacDonald (Kelsey), Kaitlyn MacDonald (Scott Joly), Derek MacDonald (Natasha), Taylor Cheesman, Ben Moore and Ted Moore (Katrina); and great grandpa of: Rhys, Charlie, Scotlyn, Lachlan, Adelyn and Phallyn.

Fred is predeceased by his former spouse Barbara Cheesman (née Copeland); his parents William “Bill” and Roxie (née Price) Cheesman; as well as his siblings: Daryle Cheesman (Grace) and Gertrude Cheesman (Ron).

Grandpa Cheesman truly lived up to his name with his cheesy jokes; always funny, sometimes offside, and always his.

Starburst will forever be known as “grandpa treats’ and nothing made him happier than seeing his grandkids and great grandkids.

We will never forget KFC dinners at his place, with chocolate milk, and the cool-coloured popsicles he always had. The excitement of seeing his red car parked at our house on our walk home from school, and his house that felt like a 70’s time capsule brings back some of the best memories that will be cherished forever.

Grandpa remembered everyone and everything, especially sports, and we truly believe this legacy lives on in his great grandson Rhys – the junior version of Grandpa, the walking sports encyclopedia.

He had a way of making everyone laugh, groan, and roll their eyes all at once, and we wouldn’t have had it any other way. His stories, and his endless generosity will live on in all of us who were lucky enough to know him.

Grandpa, we will miss you deeply and love you always.

In keeping with his wish’s cremation has taken place.

Arrangements under the care and direction of LAHAIE AND SULLIVAN WEST BRANCH 20 SEVENTH STREET WEST, CORNWALL (613-932-8482).

Interment will take place in the spring at Woodlawn Cemetery.
