HOUDE, Gaetan G. – with family by his side on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Cornwall Hospice at the age of 81 years. Beloved husband of 60 years to Florence (née Periard) Houde. Loving father of Suzanne Young (Blaine), Robert Houde (Monique), Linda Tessier (Michel) and Jacques Houde (Jennifer). Cherished grandfather of Ryan Young (Shannon), Michael Aubry (Sarah), Stephanie MacNeil (John), Christine Aubry, André Houde (Rochelle), Jeanelle Houde (Matt), Jenika Houde (Brandon) and Jonathan Tessier (Marie Éve) and very proud great-grandfather of Reid and Zachary Aubry, Addison and Emma Young, Camden and Brinlee MacNeil and Weston Houde Smith. Godfather to Kristine Houde. Dear son of the late Maurice and the late Flore (née Leblanc) Houde. Brother of Denis (Rollande), Jean Roch (late Gabrielle), Bernard (Jacqueline), Solange Cadieux (Michel) and Diane Houde (Paul Sauvé). Dear brother-in-law of Diane Houde and Guy Pelletier. Predeceased by sister, Gertrude Pelletier (Guy) and by brothers, Onile, Benoit, Eddie, Armand, Jean-Paul, Gervais and Yvon. Gaetan will be missed by many loving nieces and nephews. Gaetan was the proud owner of Gaetan Houde Sheet Metal for thirty years in Cornwall and worked in the trade for another twenty-five years for his son Robert Houde. A special thanks to Dr. Menon and Carefor Hospice for the excellent care and also to the Bayshore nurse, Kristina Touchette. Family will be in attendance at LAHAIE AND SULLIVAN, CORNWALL FUNERAL HOMES, WEST BRANCH, 20 Seventh St West (613-932-8482) on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and from 1 p.m. until time of Service. Service of Remembrance will be held in the funeral home Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at 3 p.m. A private interment will take place at a later date.
